WE ARE SEEKING PEOPLE FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS:

  1. BOX OFFICE COORDINATOR

Position Type: Part-time (8 hours to start, with potential for up to 40 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: $18
Schedule:

Now-May 15th:
Tuesday & Thursday: 1pm-5pm

May 15th - Forward:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 2pm-4pm (Office Hours)
Plus Show shifts: 4pm-10pm

Join our team at The Iron Horse, a historic music venue nestled in the heart of Northampton, MA. As part of the growing non-profit organization, The Parlor Room Collective, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our box office. We're seeking a dedicated individual with exceptional customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for the arts.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

    • Provide excellent customer service to patrons both in-person and over the phone.

    • Answering phones, returning voicemails, and addressing customer inquiries promptly and professionally.

    • Resolving outstanding customer concerns and inquiries, forwarding calls to appropriate personnel when necessary.

    • Triaging submission form emails and info@parlorroom.org emails, ensuring timely responses and resolution of issues.

    • Facebook Response 

Ticketing:

    • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Patronmanager, our ticketing, and membership system.

    • Execute sales and organization protocols during box office hours and at events.

    • Navigate and troubleshoot customer issues related to ticketing.

    • Manage incoming cash transactions accurately and securely.

Memberships:

    • Familiarize yourself with our membership offerings and acquire the necessary knowledge to access membership information on Patronmanager.

    • Assist customers with membership-related inquiries and troubleshoot issues promptly.

    • Redirect complex membership concerns to the appropriate personnel, such as Sara, when necessary.


Plus: Aid in the training of additional box office staff, ensuring proficiency in membership management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a box office or similar environment.

  • Proficiency in ticketing systems, with experience using Patronmanager or Salesforce being advantageous.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse audiences.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing cash transactions and customer inquiries.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the event schedule.

  • Passion for the arts and dedication to providing exceptional experiences for patrons.

2. LEAD BARTENDER

The Iron Horse is Seeking a Lead Bartender. The candidate should have at least 3 years of high volume bar experience. You should have a wealth of craft beer, wine, and spirit knowledge and be able to be the voice of our bar program on a nightly basis. Must be comfortable with light management, inventory, and cost monitoring but most of all, know how to pour a drink and be a welcoming, trusted face. 

  • Responsible for the General Order and Cleanliness of the Bar, Liquor Closet, and Bar Walk-In

  • Management of Day to Day Bar Prep and Quality Control

  • Maintain and Rotate all Kegs and Inventory

  • Follow all Recipe Guidelines for Draft Cocktails with Daily Quality Checks

  • Work Closely with GM to Follow Cost Of Good Guidelines and Sideline Waste

  • Fill out Daily / Weekly Inventory Sheets 

  • Monitor Opening and Closing Task Sheets for Bartenders and Bar Backs

3. LINE COOKS / PREP COOKS

The Iron Horse is Seeking Line & Prep Cooks. Interested candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of professional cooking experience and be comfortable with all the general fundamentals. You should have your own knives and tools and know how to stay organized and work cleanly. You will be working with a small, concise menu with a big focus on seasonality and technique. We want to make thoughtful and exciting food, so we’re more interested in ambition and attention to detail than anything else.

We have both full and part time Line and Prep positions available with a flexible schedule.

4. FOOD RUNNER / BUSSER

The Iron Horse is seeking Food Runners and FOH personnel. Food Runners & Bussers are responsible for running food from the kitchen to patrons in a busy, fast paced live music environment. You must know how to move quickly on the floor and keep things clean, organized, and make sure guests needs are attended to. Ideally candidates should have bar or restaurant background, but all levels of experience are welcome.

5. PORTER

The Iron Horse is seeking an Overnight Porter / Cleaning Person. The candidate should be highly experienced in cleaning and janitorial work, preferably in the hospitality industry. You will be working in the overnight hours to assure that the venue is clean, organized, and reset for the following day. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Sweeping / Mopping

  • Restroom and Basic Janitorial Needs

  • Bar & Kitchen Surface Cleaning

  • Taking out Garbage & Recycling

  • Dishwashing

  • Restocking Inventory
